Journey Retreat

The Journey Retreat is designed for youth (13-18) who desire to be confirmed. Confirmation is a sacramental rite whereby an individual professes the vows made at their baptism (by their parents) as their own. The Bishop lays hands on the confirmand and prays for the Holy Spirit to confirm and strengthen the faith of the believer, as they use their God given gifts to build up the body of Christ and share the Gospel.

At the retreat, youth are prepared by interactive teachings and practices of the essentials of the Christian faith: God's story of salvation throughout the Bible, our identity in Christ, how to read and study your Bible, how to pray, and how to share your testimony. The weekend concludes with baptism and/or confirmation at the 11:00 am worship service at Grace Anglican Church.

A mandatory orientation will be held at The Barn on Sunday, August 9, from 12:45 PM - 2:30 PM to prepare for the retreat, discuss the meaning and purpose of confirmation, and answer any related questions. Lunch will be provided. Confirmands and parents are asked to attend.
